Eswatini healthcare systems

Improving the Eswatini healthcare experience

Empowering compassionate, comprehensive healthcare through an integrated digital ecosystem.

CHALLENGE

Building one system for all health, supply chain, and personnel services

TLC reaches all four regions of Eswatini with comprehensive health services. Every week, thousands of patients visit the fixed-site Miracle Campus in central Eswatini for outpatient and inpatient services. In addition, every day, mobile hospital outreach teams deliver health services to homes, churches, factories, urban centers, schools, and community centers.

A Step Forward to a More Compassionate World

I have never seen anything like The Luke Commission anywhere. I’m going back personally in awe of all you have done and accomplished in Eswatini. You are leading the pack and what you are doing should be done elsewhere in Africa.”

TLC serves thousands of patients per week at the fixed-site Miracle Campus Hospital and through over 1,500 mobile hospital outreaches each year.

GOALS

A scalable system that supports healthcare employees and patients seamlessly

Good healthcare systems are critical for the well-being of individuals and communities. With eSystems, TLC aimed to migrate an electronic ecosystem to the OutSystems platform to scale and expand the ability to provide quality healthcare services throughout Eswatini and the surrounding region.

The Luke Commission

Through the Luvelo digital ecosystem, The Luke Commission coordinates care for over 5,000 patients a week, manages schedules for over 700 personnel, and tracks over 18,000 inventoried items.

SOLUTION

An ecosystem for complete health management

  • The project migrated to OutSystems with an electronic medical record system highly contextualized to Eswatini which facilitates patient interaction and provision of healthcare services.
  • To date, the ecosystem has provided support for 99% of Eswatini's COVID-19 vaccinations.
  • By allowing back-office configurations, including an integrated business logistics suite of personnel management, time and attendance, supply chain, and payroll, the project improved business management services.
  • Migrating diverse data from legacy platforms enabled better management of inventory locations, mobile
medical teams, centralized warehouses, and vendors.

RESULTS

TLC is better equipped to:

  • Handle a significant increase in demand and grow their user base while also managing their logistics network in a profitable and
    sustainable manner.
  • Support other clinics, create a better immunization and supply system and accelerate the experience for outpatients at healthcare centers- thanks to the migration to OutSystems.
  • Ensure high-quality, efficient healthcare services for patients and a powerful, user-friendly platform for staff.
